On some cars "sand" or cut or dent an extremely small part of the wheel bottom. It adds realism and makes the rattling noise that you hear from actual flat spots on trains

I love the sound of these GE locomotives. I wish GE had supplied the parts to the UK when Brush Traction built the Class 60's although the Mirrlees Blackstone MB275T does sound similar but less aggressive.

Spray paintbsome dirt, rust and graffiti on the engine and coal cars. Give it a more realistic look. I would advice to go to a train yard and take pictures of the trains to help mimic the look.

Q: I do N scale and the short covered hoppers of Micro-Trains all seem to have four hatches on top. In contrast nowadays they all seem to have three hatches only. What is the difference? Are there cars for e.g. cement and the the cars for sand are different? Or can all the 2 bay hoppers transport either load and it's just a different design? Great video, very helpful for modelling!

If you zoomed in just a little more so that the camera cant catch the edge fo the table or backdrop it would be hard to tell if it is a scale trail or the real deal.

Can't stand the dull shade of Red that CP went to. Their Action Red shade (from 1968 to 1994) was better IMO. Sent them an email suggesting they go back to it or at least do a heritage unit. They never responded which indicates they didn't give a sh*t what i had to say. I'm talking about the staff I emailed after Hunter Harrison took over the rail company which transformed HR into a smug bunch of snot noses.

I bought a P42 with a similar war bonnet to yours. Just waiting for it to arrive. I model the Newmarket Sub (parts of it anyway) so I guess we'll see how it looks. Yours looks great with the VIA LRC cars, which are now hard to come by...

S-u-p-e-r-b layout and great camera-man filming angle. As a bonus the LRC interior light did not flicker at all and the car stayed on the tracks ! Who would've thought ? The Athearn P42 is very nice.of course and very [100%] prototypical for that consist . When I grow up I want to be able to do scenery like that 😛😋 it is amazing!
